Republic Day Celebration

66th Republic Day

January 26  marks the day when the longest written constitution of the world was enforced. The Josephites also celebrated this day with great verve and enthusiasm. The students of St Joseph’s Academy put up an outstanding programme describing the history and the importance of this day. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr Jalota who is a retired teacher of the school.

The programme began with the flag hoisting ceremony wherein the chief guest unfurled the flag while the entire school sang the National anthem. Then a short cultural programme was held in the school auditorium.

It began with Abhiti Mishra enlightening the audience about the importance of this day. The school choir then instilled the spirit of patriotism by singing patriotic songs like ‘Saare Jahaan Se Acha’ and ‘Chodo Kal Ki Baatein’. This was followed by poem recitals which brought out the prestige and glory of India. Himanshu Yadav then expressed his views on the occasion. Next in line was a beautiful and scintillating dance performance by Class IX students giving a tribute to Mother India and displaying how India was released from the shackles of British rule by the incessant efforts of Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters.

The programme ended with inspirational speeches by Chief Guest Mr Jalota and Rev. Bro. Dennis describing the mood of the occasion.
