Sports and athletics have been an integral part of S.J.A. for years immemorial. Keeping up the tradition, this year too, S.J.A. organized its 83rd Annual Sports Meet with the same flamboyant spirit, on the 19th of November. Air Marshal, R.D. Mathur(AVSM,VSM) and his wife Mrs. Shipra Mathur graced the occasion as the chief guests. The event commenced with the hoisting of the flag by the chief guests followed by the Torch Relay and the Bullet Drill. The oath was administered by the Sports Secretary,Rev.Bro.Rajesh, after which, the chief guest declared the meet open.

Up next was the welcome dance- Kathak Fusion presented by the senior girls. The girls in their colorful attires regaled one and all with their graceful moves. The tiny tots of LKGand UKG walked past holding banners and placards, highlighting the significance of a good and healthy lifestyle.The students of classes IV and V dressed in crimson kimonos ,dancing  with multi chromed umbrellas in their hands were a feast to the eyes. The middle school boys marcelled the audience with various complex formations in their P.T. Display whereas the middle school girls fascinated all with their  Rainbow dance choreographed on a remix of jovial country numbers.
The event also included a number of races such as 100mtr,200mtr and 80mtr races, 4×50mtr,4×100mtr and mix relay for different categories.
The newly introduced obstacle race also saw a zealous participation. The 5000 mtr cycle race for the senior boys was the icing on the cake.The invitational relay witnessed students of various prestigious institutions like Hilton School, St. George’s College,CJM and Welham Girls’ participating with commendable vigour and enthusiasm. The event holds a special attraction for the alumni as they get to test their adrenalin buzz through participating in the invitational relay organized for them. Now was the time for the school to March to the drumbeat, synchronized in steps and spirit.  While addressing the gathering,  the Chief Guest said that as an ex Josephite ,he feels extremely proud to see sports and athletics still being pursued fervently in his alma mater.
The sports meet concluded with a vote of thanks by the Head Boy ,Kshitij Bisht and the Head Girl ,Muskan Malhotra and the lowering of the flag by the Chief Guest. Finally the entire school stood together, proud and gay to sing the school song.
