67th Republic Day Celebrated

The 67th Republic Day of India was celebrated at SJA with a great deal of patriotic zeal and fervour. The Chief Guest was Major General Chandar Nandwani. The programme commenced with the hoisting of the Indian flag by the Chief Guest, followed  by the National Anthem. Girls of class vi presented  a beautiful prayer dance to invoke the blessings of God.

Kaumadi Dobhal of class 11  expressed her feelings and emotions beautifully at this proud moment by her very impressive Hindi speech. The event proceeded with a beautiful rendition of Rabindra Nath Tagore’s famous poem,”Where the mind is without fear” by the young Josephites, arousing the feeling of pride and honour for the country in our hearts. The event that followed included a beautiful piece of Patriotic Hindi song, “Suno gaur se Duniya walon”,by the school choir, a tableau dramatising the lives and achievements of a few eminent Indian personalities from different walks of life, an effort to glorify India ‘ s potential and highlighting the names of a few children who would  be awarded with the National Bravery Award this year for their meritorious acts of bravery against all odds. The recitation of the poem,”Ganatantra Diwas” by Aryan Rai was not only soul stirring but also evoked the spirit of nationalism in everyone. Continuing with the spirit of patriotism, the students brought the stage alive with their passion and love for the motherland through a dance performance on the song,” Kandhon se milte hain Kandhe”. While addressing the gathering,the Chief Guest motivated the students to join armed forces. He appreciated the students as well as the staff for organising such a marvellous programme.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Principal,Rev. Brother Dennis and the customary distribution of sweets among children.
